21 Oct An Evening with Jean-Jacques Fertal
Jean-Jacques and Chef de Cuisine, Dan Vernia, will be pairing French wines with classic French cooking. Chef Dan’s four course tasting menu will be sourced from and inspired by the ultimate culinary encyclopedia from 1938 called, “Larousse Gastronomique.” Larousse Gastronomique has been the foremost resource of culinary knowledge since its initial publication in 1938. Long revered for its encyclopedic entries on everything from cooking techniques, ingredients, and recipes to equipment, food histories, and culinary biographies, it is the one book every professional chef and avid home cook must have on his or her kitchen shelf. In fact, Julia Child once wrote, “If I were allowed only one reference book in my library, Larousse Gastronomique would be it, without question.”
Jean-Jacques will speak about each wine being served, varietal origins, production methods and flavor profiles. Chef Dan and Jean-Jacques have worked together before and the dynamic between the food and wine will be exceptional with a story behind each offering.
Reception begins at 6:30pm with Dinner starting at 7pm. Cost $65 per person (tax and gratuity not included).
